Province Pastoral Plan 2004-2007 |
|||
|
Reflecting the spirit of General Chapter 25, the 2004 San Francisco Province Chapter theme is Renewing Community for Youth. General Chapter 25 asks that provinces face challenges regarding organizational and structural conditions for living and working together. The San Francisco Province must ensure that our Salesian communities are made up of the right number of confreres who are qualified to bring about fraternal life, evangelical witness and significant presence among young people. (GC25 n. 71, p. 69.) General Chapter 25 states that the qualitative and quantitative consistency of the Salesian community is a fundamental condition for making possible in each community the experience of fraternal life, of evangelical witness, of animating presence among the young, of on-going formation, and for achieving in a significant manner its animating role in the Educative Pastoral Community. (GC25 n. 75, p. 71.) The Provincial and his council are asked to evaluate the effectiveness of the mission of individual works based on the proper number of qualified Salesians, their significant presence among the young, their ability to combine with other forces such as our Salesian Cooperators, Collaborators, the Salesian Family, and other organizations geared to helping youth, and thus give rise to ecclesial vocations with particular attention to the Salesian Family. (GC25 n. 84, p. 76.) |
