Stages of Salesian Formation

Formation for Salesian Religious Life begins with this first stage of Candidacy.

The next stages of formation are these:

sq16_gray.gif (47 bytes) Novitiate (one full year)

sq16_gray.gif (47 bytes) Period of Temporary Vows (six years). This period includes:

   cir16_gray.gif (84 bytes) Post-novitiate Formation (2 years)

   cir16_gray.gif (84 bytes) Practical Training (2 to 3 years)

   cir16_gray.gif (84 bytes) Education toward an Advanced Degree (Salesian Brother)

   cir16_gray.gif (84 bytes) Education toward a Masters in Theology and Ordination (Salesian Priest Candidate)

sq16_gray.gif (47 bytes) Perpetual Vows are taken after six years of temporary vows. Formation continues after Perpetual Vows.
