John Filipello's Gift and Please remember in your prayers the soul of our Salesian friend JOHN
FILIPELLO who died a year ago (+11/19/97) in San Francisco. His birth at Castelnuovo Don

where St. John Bosco himself was born, sealed his own and his
family's lifelong love and devotion to Don Bosco and to all things Salesian. Shortly
before his death John bequeathed a three-story building in North Beach, San Francisco, to
our Salesian Italian national parish of SS. Peter and Paul, with two specific requests:
first, that all money be applied to genuinely Salesian purposes, such as its many youth
programs; and, second, that $150,000 be set aside, with a prayerful remembrance, for a
perpetual Salesian Seminary Burse in memory of his mother, Rosalia Filipello, and $150,000
for a similar burse in his own memory and in memory of the Filipello family. Thank you,
dear John! May God rest your beautiful soul.
