Mission Statement

"The Bulletin's aim is as much as possible to publicize our activities and show them as they really are. By winning popular good will for our works we shall obtain people's help. In skillfully presenting our needs we can also suggest varied ways of supporting our undertakings. This magazine will be the mainstay of all our enterprises; if it fails, they fail with it. We have to work to get as many readers as possible by spreading it far and wide and free of charge."
-- Don Bosco, 1877

SEMINARY SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Mrs. Belluomini

Pictured in the photo, right next to the 1997 USA Salesian Centennial poster still hanging on her living room wall, is Mrs. Germana Belluomini (r) Salesian cooperator and great admirer of Don Bosco and of his work for the young. With her is Rita Malatesta, who has been volunteering at our provincial office since her retirement in 1995. Mrs. Belluomini's original Seminary Burse, begun with a gift $10,000 at the death of her husband in his memory sixteen years ago, has already grown (thanks also to a favorable investment market) to almost $95,000. Her dream is to help it reach $100,000, thus providing an adequate annual scholarship for young men studying for the Salesian Priesthood or brotherhood. The recent death of her 24-year-old grandson, Michael, struck suddenly by a virulent strain of meningitis, prompted Germana to continue her sacrifices also in his memory.

You may share in her efforts by sending your contribution to the
