- God of grace and history,
- we call to you as we celebrate
- 100 years of Salesian presence in the
United States.
- We remember the past with gratitude.
Thank you for all that has been accomplished:
- for the countless young who have been
served,
- for the poor who have had the good
news preached to them
- for the Salesian family that has been
formed,
- for the journey you have made with us,
step by step.
We stand in the present with needs.
Give us the will to recommit ourselves to the
journey:
- with an insight into the needs of the
young today,
- with a conviction of the vitality of Don
Bosco's charism,
- with a desire to form true family,
- with a courage to act in justice and love.
We look to the future with hope.
Lead us to an ever more faithful presence in
our land:
- to a deeper fidelity where we
presently live,
- to a presence in places where we
are now absent,
- to a wider movement of people who consider
themselves Salesian,
- to a greater number of young who
know they are loved.
God of grace and history, walk with us further.
Keep us faithful to Don Bosco, accompanied by Mary,
committed to the way of Jesus, who is Lord forever and ever.
Amen.
