He died peacefully during the night at SS P&P.

Fr. Austin Conterno was born in Cuneo, Piedmont, Italy, July 29, 1915. His deceased brother, Vittorio, also, became a professed Salesian.

Dear Salesian sisters and brothers,

I am presently in San Francisco participating in Provincial Council meetings.  The meetings are being held at Sts. Peter and Paul.  I wish to thank Fr. John Itzaina and community for their hospitality and their ministry at Sts. Peter and Paul.

I will be in San Francisco until Saturday, May 2.  On Saturday I will fly back to Los Angeles to attend to several commitments and participate in


Novices from California Experience Holy Week in Tijuana, Mexico

Tijuana, Mexico - April 2015 - This year the provinces of England, Austrian, Irland and the USA West and East have decided to have their novitiate together in California, USA.

The main idea of having the novitiate together is to give the novices an opportunity of group experience; God has blessed this group with 11 novices all together. As part of their formation, the Mission Animation Department has put together a short missionary experience in Tijuana, Mexico.

Bishop Mora Salesian High School was beaming on March 6, 2015. It was a very special day on the Salesian campus. Not only did the Class of 1965 celebrate their Golden Diploma Ceremony with a school mass but members of the Class of 1964 unveiled their gift to the school. Muralist, David Botello ’64, of East Los Streetscapers was commissioned by the Class of 1964 to create a mural of St. John Bosco.

Today, after having lunch with the community of Sts. Peter and Paul, I will drive down to Los Angeles.  Tomorrow, Thursday, I will be at Don Bosco Tech, attending an all morning Board Meeting.  On Friday to Sunday, I will participate in the Religious Education Congress in Anaheim.

Salesian Students Produce Film on Don Bosco Bicentenary Celebration (San Francisco)

With a newly formed student Film Club, seven students from Salesian College Preparatory in Richmond, California took on an ambitious student film project, "The Bicentenary of Don Bosco's Birth."

The student-run Salesian Film Club's goal was to document and capture the spirit of the bicentenary celebration of Don Bosco's birth at Saints Peter and Paul Church in San Francisco, California. You can view their film production and let them know how they did!
